50 flags to Kitty Hawk chooses Wyoming State Flag bearer
"50 Flags to Kitty Hawk", a
national aviation celebration created by the Experimental Aircraft Association and the National Park
Service to help commemorate the 100th anniversary of powered flight, today announced that Cheyennebased
pilot Timothy Hu will represent the State of Wyoming by flying its official state flag to the Wright
Brothers National Memorial on September 1, 2003.
Timothy Hu is one of 50 EAA members chosen - one from each state - to participate in the "50
Flags to Kitty Hawk" program, in which flags from all of the United States are flown to Kitty Hawk,
NC, prior to December 1, 2003. Upon arrival, EAA-member pilots will take part in official flag
presentation ceremonies, and their State Flag will be raised and flown at the Wright Brothers National
Memorial site on that respective day.
"Being chosen to participate in the '50 Flags to Kitty Hawk' and represent our state as part of this
year-long program is a distinct honor", Timothy said. Timothy will make his "50 Flags" flight to Kitty
Hawk in a Cherokee Six, a seven-passenger, single engine aircraft.
Timothy, who holds a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of
Wyoming has been an EAA member since 1998. He is also the Chairman of Lonetree Internet Services,
a leading provider of high speed internet services to Wyoming and beyond. He is president and cofounder
of The Cheyenne Flying Club. He is also a member of Angel Flight West.
