Flag disposal box to be installed at Fire Station No. 1
The Valdosta Fire Department and the Veterans of Foreign War Post 1777 are partnering to make Fire Station one an official flag disposal drop off location. A flag disposal box will be placed outside station one where citizens and businesses can drop off American Flags to be properly disposed.
“Just as it is important to properly and proudly fly the American Flag, it is also important to see it is disposed of properly when it has become tattered and worn,” said Mayor James H. Rainwater, “We are excited about partnering with the Post 1777 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars to provide an outlet for our citizens to properly dispose of their American Flags.”
