Back again -- Flags flown over US Capitol!

After a shortage lasting almost two years, Representative F. James Sensenbrenner, Jr., (R-Menomonee Falls) today announced the availability of flags flown over the U.S. Capitol building.

"One of the results of the events of September 11, 2001, was the shortage of flags provided by the US Capitol's flag office, said Representative Sensenbrenner. Due to the surge of patriotism after 9/11, I have been extremely limited in the amount of flags I have been able to provide my constituents over the last two years.

Vendors other than the U.S. Capitol have also been experiencing a dearth of flags. Now that the flag supply has been replenished, Representative Sensenbrenner will provide these flags at cost (including postage) with a personally signed certificate commemorating the day it was flown over the Capitol. This offer is open only to Fifth District residents, and is limited to three flags per household. Rules of the House of Representatives expressly prohibit their resale or use for commercial purposes.
