Blunt: Fly your flag

Seventh District Congressman Roy Blunt encourages all Southwest Missourians to fly the American flag today and for the next thirty days as a symbol of our national solidarity and determination. Blunt joined Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert and Missouri Representatives Dick Gephardt, Ike Skelton, and Jo Ann Emerson in introducing a resolution encouraging all Americans to display the United States flag.

"Many Americans are already flying their flags, but in moments like this, Congress should do some symbolic things," Blunt said. "Other Americans will see the resolution and hear about it and will think for the first time, in the middle of the concern they're feeling, that they ought to get the flag they always fly on the Fourth of July and Memorial Day out of the closet and display it on the front porch."
