Rich Brown of Bessemer have donated American and Michigan State flags
United States Representative, 1st District, Bart Stupak of Menominee and Michigan State Representative, 110th District, Rich Brown of Bessemer have donated American and Michigan State flags, respectively, to the Ontonagon County Veterans Memorial.
Congressman Stupak arranged to have the American flag flown over the national capital and Representative Brown arranged to have the state flag flown over the state capital.
The flags, along with certificates, were presented to Don Bussiere, chairman of the Ontonagon County Veterans Memorial Committee at the U.P. Legislative dinner in L’Anse March 20, 2004.
I think it is great that these 'special’ flags will be the first flags to fly over the OCVM, Bussiere said. Fundraising for the Memorial is progressing and ground breaking is scheduled for Memorial Day 2004, with the dedication some time later this summer.
The Committee would like to thank Congressman Stupak and Representative Brown, not only for the flags, but all they have done for the Veterans of the area.
