American gold trimmed flags for indoor use
Have you ever seen the American gold trimmed flags flying. The gold trim or fringe is deemed to be not part of the flag but honorable enrichment only. This flag is to be only used indoors as the weather would deteriorate the gold trimmed flags quickly. It is believed the original use of these ceremonial flags was for the military and in 1895 they were official used by the US Army.
The fringe has no official significance, but is allowable according to official flag etiquette. As well, there is nothing to state that only the federal government may use the gold trimmed flags. There are many sites on the Internet that make erroneous claims about the use of these flags. Be aware that the fringed flags do not indicate martial law or that the Constitution does not apply in that area. These claims are entirely unfounded and can be dismissed as urban myths. If you are interested in learning more about the gold trimmed flag or about any flag you can find some excellent sites on the Internet.
As well as learning about flags with a simple search you can find many expansive sites which offer for sale, flags of the 50 individual states, the American flag, and the gold trimmed American flags as well as flags from countries around the world. You may purchase these flags in large sizes to fly outside a business, smaller ones to fly from your house or car and hand held flags for your special event.
